Regulated Activities
Care Quality Commission – regulate services to adults and children who receive personal care either in their home or community. (note they do not regulate day services for adults)
The definition of Personal Care is the provision of physical assistance or prompting and supervising a person in connection with:
- eating or drinking including parenteral nutrition
- washing or bathing
- Dressing
- oral care, or
- the care of skin, hair and nails (with the exception of nail care provided by a chiropodist or podiatrist)
Note we support some clients with activities such as accessing community facilities, cleaning, cooking, shopping or taking medication who do not require assistance with personal care as detailed above. The Services provided for these clients is not regulated by CQC.
Ofsted – regulate our after school, weekend and school holiday clubs for children and young people in our Newsome and Ovenden centres. (note they do not regulate day services for adults)
