Aids to Diagnosis
It is important to examine the casualty to look for any signs that could aid your diagnosis. Check for:
- Bleeding
- Breathing
- Foreign Bodies (anything stuck in the skin)
- Colour of Face
- Groans
- Swelling/Deformity
- Burns
- Pulse
- Bruising
- Incontinence
- Temperature
- Responses
It is also important to check around the casualty for any signs of what could have caused the incident/ injuries, such as:
- Fire
- Signs of electrical malfunction
- Gas
- Alcohol
- Drugs
- Dampness
- Temperature (too hot or cold)
