Causes of Shock
Your body enters shock when there is ‘a lack of oxygen being delivered to the tissues of the body, this is usually caused by a fall in blood volume or blood pressure’.
There are a number of reasons why a casualty can go into shock, such as:
- Blood loss – internal or external bleeding.
- Failure of the heart
- Poor circulation
- Anaphylaxis
- Dehydration
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Burns
