Recognition of Shock

In the early stages of shock it can be recognised from a rise in heart rate, and some light-headedness, but at this point, symptoms can usually be resolved by drinking fluids.

In a more serious case of shock, symptoms include:

  • Ashen coloured skin (grey/blue)
  • Clammy and cold skin to touch
  • Feeling of sickness and thirst
  • Breathing will be rapid and shallow
  • Rapid, weak pulse
  • Chest Pain
  • Dizziness/Fainting
