You need 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day

1 Portion is Equal to:

  • 3 heaped tablespoons of fresh, frozen or tinned vegetables such as carrots, peas or sweetcorn
  • 150ml of fruit juice
  • 1 tablespoon of dried fruit
  • 3 heaped tablespoons of beans and pulses
  • In general, the size of a portion is the size of your fist


Most fruit and vegetables are low in fat

They are high in Vitamins, Minerals and Fibre
