Non Aversive Behavioural Support
Non-aversive behavioural support aims to manage the behaviour that is challenging by implementing strategies to stop harm, without inflicting punishment.
e.g. avoiding going to a certain place when it will be busy and loud and going at a quieter time instead.
e.g. using medication to stop/ suppress urges the client has and behaviour resultant from that behaviour, and refusing to address the issues regarding ‘why’ the adult has these urges and ‘why’ the adult expresses him/herself in such a way
