The Support/ Care Worker performs an important role in noticing how clients experience their medication. Inform your Line Manager if you notice the client experiences side effects or has an adverse reaction to their medication. The Line Manager will contact the pharmacist or GP for advice. Some noticeable side effects could be:

• Cognitive functions- becoming more forgetful
• Mood- becoming more irritable or low in mood
• Mobility- less mobile
• Level of consciousness – becoming more drowsy
• Sleep patterns-becoming more restless at night or sleeping more during the day
• Appetite- not eating or drinking as much as usual or always being hungry and gaining weight
