CATEGORY 1 – COMMUNICATION
Mark Vincent
“Mark has been working with a client on Saturdays at the day centre and has had a calming and positive effect on this particular client. Mark’s client behaviours are well managed and have decreased whilst working with him and as of recent has been choosing to spend more time in social areas, opposed to just the sensory room. This is due to Mark’s style and approach to working, Mark is patient and reassuring and most importantly is not intimidated by his displays of challenging behaviour. Mark is very observant, he acknowledges his client’s facial expressions and body language for signs of frustration, which he will then go on to encourage a different activity so that the frustration does not escalate.”. – Simone Kelly – Group Leader
Mark – “I stay calm and give off a positive vibe around my client so that he also stays calm throughout the day, I encourage him to spend time downstairs so he can socialise with his peers and try to join in with more activates at the centre.”
