Tournament Win for Active Newsome

They came, they saw, they conquered!

The mighty Active Newsome football team consisted of:

Andrew, Rashad, Casey, Jo Jo, Faisal and Jason Crawshaw.

Everyone at the centre has been working hard on developing their footballing skills as

part of our Thursday training sessions at Rawthorpe Church Hall.

This paid dividends as the Active Newsome team were runaway winners at the Cherry

Trees Football Tournament.

Four teams in all took part and Active Newsome put in some spectacular performances,

winning the first game, 2-1, a goal from Rashad topped off with a screamer from Andrew

in the dying minutes of the game.

A subsequent 3-0 goal fest, with Casey, Rashad and Andrew each netting for a rampant

Newsome side saw us coming away with the silverware.

To top that off, our very own Andrew also won Man of the Match for the entire

tournament. He also does a very mean Jason and the Technicolour dreamcoat

routine!
